It's been since August since I lasted posted on my blog. A lot has been happening....gardening, sick hubby, and now getting ready for Christmas.
This card I made for Joan's Gardens challenge using Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3341 Church in the Wildwood precut set. I like the simple cards...not too much glitz. I gold embossed the sentiment on white cardstock, cut it out with decorative scissors. Used Hunter Green CS for my card base and to back the sentiment. Embossed gold cs with Cuttle bug's Holly ribbon folder. Added leaves punched with Martha Stewart punch and added green button. Now have got to get back to finishing my Christmas Cards! Am sooo far behind!

Happy Birthday

I made this card for a challenge Linda Payne is hosting on STV with my sister-in-law in mind. Her birthday is Sunday and she is a beautiful lady in her 80's. She comes to my home on Tuesdays and blesses our group with "fluffy stuff"...a pudding & cool whip dessert of one of her many recipes! She's a beautiful and very active lady!

This is my first "quilt" on paper with my $10.00 auction sewing machine! I gave my daughter my $1,000 machine last Christmas so she could use it...it sits comfortably in her closet!! I can use it when I go down! I entered it in Linda's blast from the past challenge. Sure would like to have a new stamp set!! I used to quilt so I'm thinking of some of those designs that would look cute on a card. The first one that comes to mind is Cathaderal Window which is my favorite design....maybe in the future I'll try it on a card.
I've posted on fb about Pete, my husband and his new issue with his heart. He's now on Coumadin (generic form). We spent an hour with the VA pharmacist in Charlottesville, VA is am. She gave us so much info that our heads were swimming when we came out. They're trying everything they can to prevent him from having a stroke. From symptons he's had, he's already had a very close call.
Pray for us and have a wonderful rest of the day.

F

F Finally! I'm back to blogging again! I have had a busy summer which included the trip to the stamping show in NC last week! We had such a wonderful time!
I made this card using some of the dp I got while down there. I was out of everything I liked so I enjoyed shopping for dp! This card is for my brother in law's birthday today! Then I entered it in Linda Payn'es blast from the past challenge. The tree silhouettes is the first set I bought from GKD.
Today is another busy day...canning tomatoes, already did battle with ants that wanted my humming bird food....ain't happening now! Then fix an early dinner so can go to VBS tonight.
Have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge for GKD's Release party. Love the colors Lemon drop and tempting turquoise together. I "pieced" the quilt blocks onto lemon drop cs The images are from Nina Brackett's Nana's Needlework. The dp is from SU and also the tempting turquoise cs. The hinges on teh basket are brads from GKD Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit. I colored them with copics to match the basket. Stamped and cut out the shelf and fastened it to dp w/scor pal tape. Stamped basket on dp then stamped it on white and colored w/copics, cut it out and adhered to dp. I haven't put a sentiment on the inside yet..probably use as a note card. Haven't posted anything for a while...3 funerals !

Well, I guess I've still got some things to learn about posting on my blog! I gave each card a tag, but they all showed up together!! Well, guess I'll have to call Linda to help me out...again!! But to go on with the cards. The 1st one with the watering can I did for a challenge on STV. I used SU cardstock and dp, colored it with copics and used the nesties small triangle to cut it out. I used glitter on the water. The little flower is done with a punch with a pearl in the center. The eyelet is from the STV Stamp Kit by GKD and they work...all you need is the end of a pen to put them in! Great!!
This is the inside view. I used the grass from Sending Sunshine by Theresa Momber and the sentiment from Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit.

This is the inside of the birthday card I made for a friend and also for the Monday color challenge on STV. The watering can is from Rupa's Spring has Sprung set and the bd sentiment is from my stash. Use it A LOT! Isorta reversed embossed this...embossed and then turned it over and stamped sentiment on it. I added water sprinkles from the can w/gray copic marker.

This is the outside of my friend's bd card. I really like this set by Gina. The cs is SU and the dp is from the STV stamp kit. I nestied the circle and stamped the pot of seeds then paper pieced the pot so it would show outside the circle. Cuttlebugged the hat on yellow cs and added pearl to bow. The nesties label w/SMILE has one end cut off and put in the corner. Well, I'll see if I do better next time! Good night! Joan

I had a wonderful lunch Wednesday with 2 dear people..Diann, my cousin and Linda my niece. They hadn't seen each other in about 9 years! Diann and I arrived at the restraurant 15 minutes before schedule and decided to wait in my vehicle until we saw Linda arrive. At around noon I decided that maybe I'd better check inside! We had missed her! She had been sitting inside since 11:30 waiting! LOL! Our server came by so many times to take our order and we weren't ready that she finally said, "When I see your menus closed, I'll know your're ready to order!" We left her a nice tip because we were there until 2pm so she didn't make any money off that table! It was so nice to catch up with family!!Posted by Picasa

Diann and I got to the restraurant 15 minutes ahead of the appointed time. She got into my vehicle which was parked facing the door so we could see people going in. We watched for Linda until 11:55 and I told Diann, Let's go in..maybe she slipped in without us seeing her! SHE DID..She'd been waiting inside while we were outside! LOL! Got my order from StampTV yesterday and this card is one of the sets. Love it..it's called A Beautiful Life by Melanie Muenchinger. She's such a talanted designer! I did this for a color challenge using violet, green and white colors. Added a touch of black around the edge and for the "bee" tracks. I'm looking forward to seeing the bumble bees in my flower garden. I love setting on the deck and watch them dig for nectar in the flower petals. Last year we had one that would buzz around our head anytime we came outside as if he was questioning what our motive for being out there was!
Thanks for stopping by..see ya next time!

Happy Birthday Mark! I have a wonderful son-in-law and is well deserving of all the happy birthday wishes he gets! He's an avid fisherman so I thought this card suits him! I used SU Blue Bayou, Pumpkin Pie and white CS and velumn over the fish. The fish image is from the new set by Asela Hopkins called "By Your Side". I colored the fish with copic markers and placed the velumn over it so it looks like the fish are in water. The background stamped with versa mark is from Northwoods. I got it at the Enchanted Cottage in NC a good while back. The sentiment stamped in Memento Ink I think I got at ACM. Got a busy weekend ahead..so good night everyone!

Happy Birthday Brooke

Hi again! This has been a busy week and I almost forgot this little girl's birthday which is today! This was a quick and easy card..using SU lavender and certain celery cardstock. The dp I picked up at Joann's and the little girl image was given to me by my dh's cousin last spring. I colored her with copics and backed her with the certain celery cs so she would pop. My next post will be a card for my dear son-in-law who's bday is next week.

Sketch challenge GKDMAR10LM

I really enjoyed the release party and all the beautiful samples of the new stamp sets...can't wait to get mine. I had made another card for this challenge and hated it..so back to the drawing board! The cardstock is Stamping Up So Saffron, White, Blue Bayou. The image is from Nina Brackett's Lovely Shelf. I used nesties on the squares and cuttlebug dotted swiss on the white cardstock. I cut out the rose and vase and paper pieced the vase from a scrap of dp.

I wanted to try the thumbing technique so I used SU elegant eggplant and whispering white. The dp is a freebie from stv. I used Tombow markers 025 and 606, and Marvy green. The ribbon is from SU and the brad from my stash. The image is from SU petal prints and sentiment from SU Warmest Regards. I think I need to PRACTICE this technique a LOT!
